I also think you should go up in patch size.
You will be able to get that ball down the muzzle with a .015 patch, it will just take a little more effort. If you are hitting the target at 100 with your undersized patch you will be hitting X's at 100 soon enough if you fine tune that load.
 
Difficult to know if it's the crown or the rifling ...

I had a try with a long strip of ticking ... but unfortunately ... it didn't want to back out of the barrel !

So I had to push the ball to the bottom before to use my extractor ...

The cotton strip was exactly cut as the patches were after been fired.

The crown doesn't seem to be guilty ... Likely the rifling edges.

I'm going to purchase some thicker patches and see what's going on ... :hmm:

So far I can do nothing else than waiting until I have them.

Tomorrow I'll be in NY for some days. Next trials when back to France !
