Looking for quality gun wall hangers to display a muzzleloader. Found only cheap brass hooks. Who would carry quality hooks.

Rifle Hooks

I must say that I have two sets of these hooks that Clause has provided a link to, they are fantastic...

I also lined the gun side of the hook with felt to keep from scratching the stocks...

I saw those a while back and liked the look of them. I have a little different situation and maybe the esteemed members of this forum can help. I have an old flinter that I would like to display, but don't want to hang it over the mantle. I want a stand that will hold the weapon horizontally on the mantle. Any ideas anyone?

I've got just the thing- I made a couple from cheap deck board for my shop, but with better wood and a nice finish, it'll make a nice display stand. I'll post a pic in the morning, and do up some Q&D plans tonight.

I've seen something like what yer talkin about, but can't remember exactly how it was constructed. I also have a pair of the fleur de lis hangers, they look great just haven't nailed them in anywhere yet.

I have seen stands for pistols such as I have described, and in at least one museum I recall seeing such a device for a long gun. It would not be hard to make. I think that it would be neat if you had a custom gun to have the wood on the stand match the stock. Same with the furniture. (I know, I know, getting a bit anal there...) :haha:

The biggest difference is where the front support lands- barrel or forearm of the stock. I have plans [dirty] sketched with dimensions I'll do them in jpg format and try to find a host to post them. These are deck board, but would look really nice in oak or even claro maple.
