I have been looking at a muzzleloader made by Jack Garner, it looks great to me. Has anyone heard of his guns and how are they? :hmm: Price is a little high but I like the looks and feel of the gun. Thanks in advance.

That guy is good! Builds very high quality stuff. Not quite in the same league as Jack Brooks, Jud Brennan, Larry Gardner, or Peter Alexander but he builds gret rifles.

By the way, what is it and what's the asking price?

Good, dependable, plain and sturdy--I have 3 of his and NO regrets. Stocks made by hand while I watched him. When last there he had several finished in the 750 to 900 range, mostly depending on wood.

The gun is one of a 1000 made for WVU, West Virginia University. It looks like a Tenn. Mountain rifle but with some gold plating.
I am told the orginal Price was $3,900.00 but it has a 1/2 scratch on the stock so they dropped the price to $1,400.00. It Has Davis triggers, Siler Lock, Green Mountain barrel. Plus it has ingraving on it. Of course it says West Virginia on it. I realize it is a lot of money but I would not buy a gun that I would not shoot. Most of my guns do not look like they have been used, I take great care of them. I thought this may be something I could give My grandson some day? :youcrazy:
