My father made me a custom powder horn. It is a beautiful horn at that. My question is, where can I find a measure extention. He put a nice brass measure on the horn. The kind that is normally on a modern day measure. It is a brass push button type.

I am sure that they sell differnet size measures for the end that screw on. Just don't know who sells them. Thanks.

Try Dixie Gun Works, Track of the Wolf, Muzzleloader Builder Sply, TVM. and almost any of several others you can find in the LInks section.
Good Luck Fox

Many Range Officers will have a problem with a "Rock and Roll" horn. The horns with a built in measuring spout are considered by many shooters to be loading directly from the horn. You may want to consider having a separate powder measure to use in case your measuring device is not allowed on the range.

I like the button closing spouts. Even though it is not period, I have them on some of my horns, because it is a safety issue with me. I am always sure that my horn is closed if I have a spring operated spout.

A 60 year-old's father is making custom horns!!!!
There is some serious genetic material in play here!!

the bald weather guy was interviewing a hundred year old and asked the secret of the fellow's longevity, to which the geezer in question gave the standard reply about clean living, healthy lifestyle and so on. Just as the GiQ was wrapping his spiel about avoiding polyunsaturatedhaydrolated carbohydrates, there was a loud crash and a door burst open, revealing what was the remnant of what must have been the orgy/wildparty of the decade... made "Animal House" look like a church social... empty whiskey bottles, pizza boxes and assorted skimpy underwear covered what was laft of the floor.

Old Mr. Healthfood quickly shut the door and muttered to himself, "Dad's been at it again... gotta talk to him about that..."

What kind of remark is that? You're either a wiseass or troll. Which one?

I don't think you took it the way he meant it. I think what he meant is if the father at that age is making them maybe the trait will be passed on to the next generation. And Trent has been around for quite some time and has never appeared to be a wise as* or a troll.

Yep, I think the comment was meant as a compliment. :surrender:

Entirely complimentary. A little envy included, but I am thoroughly impressed with an octagenarian still doing great work instead of just watching life pass by.
