Joe, if this is a club operated range, and you are a member of the club, the club could find itself liable for not running a safe facility, and you, as a club member, might find yourself sharing in the paying of any damages...I urge you to collect the half dozen sensible guys and form a new club, and find a new place to shoot....I must admit that I was about to put in the "reducing the gene pool" argument until I read Claude's contribution...Hank

Thanks for pointing that out, Hank... That is something to really consider, no doubt about that. The kind of club that "Roundball" speaks of is the kind of club that some of us would like to see, including myself of course.

I guess maybe I should give some more thought to purchasing some acreage? I really hate to see any range go under because of poor mismanagement, and membership, but???

Joe, if you can afford the acreage..buy it....I passed up a chance to buy enough for a range in 1988, and now my 45 member club couldn't afford it. We rent our range, with the privelege of shooting twice a month, and at the pleasure of the farmer....Hank Have you thought of posting some of the NMLRA safety materials at the "idiots' range"?

We should post safety rules along side the range rules... I wonder how many will actually read them? Many don't seem to read the range rules.

I do have plenty of place to shoot out here, but a private range would be nice. I'll just keep looking until I find what appears to be right for the price...
