Arrived at Fort Cavendish and set up. Well, the shooting on Saturday began with a nice stroll down to the river. It was 1 1/2 mile walk if I heard correctly, but going through the woods in January while the temp hit 70 kinda made the feet alot quicker and the load lighter.

RHR pistol, mic read that its a 54, I used a heavy patch on a 50 cal ball, as thats all I had on hand. Quick ignition, good boom boom! On this, I had to use 4f for prime, but the 2f I had for bess worked nicely to move the ball. Shot 4 rounds with about a 30, 35, 40 and a 45 grain load. Each moved the ball, obviously the higher 2 moved it better. Both high loads were hits, the first 2 loads were short of target. Lighter than my Glock thaat I carry for work, this pistol shoots nicely, little recoil and surprising accuracy.

Bess, 1st model, 80 grains with light patch .715 ball. Hit 9 out of 10 shots on the stake shoot (shooting at vertical landscape timber, 1st team to shoot it off wins) 1 flash in the pan since my flint loosened (ran out of lead jaw pads) 46 inch barrel shoulders nice, shoots great! I would like a longer sling, lock is fast, spring is strong, all around great shooter.

These are the india imports, but they shoot great and are a good gun for the price. Would I buy a custom 1st model? Yepper, if I had an extra 1200 clams laying around, but now I am not going to sweat it, these are nice weapons. Thats my 2 pence worth, I am sure I left something out, and will post it if I did.

Respectfully,

Wes
