who makes the best range rod?
The SS ones come with a brass bore guide.I've bought several "T" handle brass rods off of EBAY for cheap. The "T" handle is good for ball pulling when you forget the powder. I think the brass is better for the barrel than the steel rods. Bill

Just curious wood doesn't pick up grit? I would think a brass range rod with a muzzle protector would be much better then a wooden rod.Brass picks up grit and will wear the muzzle? A clean rag and some solvent will fix that. Just wipe the rod clean.
I make my own rods from 3/8 hickory. Oil finished with pinned brass thimbles, threaded for accessories. Works great.
