Good afternoon guys ! I hope and pray everyone is safe and well

Today I had a few hours on my hands to tinker with my guns so I decided to refinish one of my piettas that has been sitting in the bottom of my gun safe.

This bad boy is super accurate and the action is extremely crisp. I wish all my guns actions felt like this one.
I wheel and deal in furniture for a living. Ive been in the furniture business since a wee lad due to family.I have been able to support my family refinishing pieces with the distressed and antique look and then flipping them for a profit.

I decided to try it on a 1860 Pietta today I had originally intended to sell to try and thin the herd.
I'm the kind of guy that gets a new revolver and tinkers with it till it's running perfect then wants to buy another one for a new project.

I have added treso nipples to the cylinder and a uberti rammer to ram conicals without deformation. I also opened up the loading port to accept conicals.

Internals have been honed and the action is smooth as glass.

I have not defarbed it yet.

Here are some pictures.....how do you think it came out?

Remember you can always distress more but once you distress too much you cant undo it.

Occasionally I'll have a customer who will call and say they have a table or bookshelf/chest of drawers that isnt distressed enough and I'll make a house call. I usually ask Mrs.Jones/Mr.Jones to leave the room as it might get loud. I proceed to beat the furniture with a small dog chain, scuff it up with sandpaper , and stab the devil out of it with a flathead screw driver. If I'm feeling froggy I'll hammer a few nails in it then pull it out.

And well..... Thats how its done.

Well BlackPowderWarrior, I can’t take credit for the finish job on the 58 Uberti but I thank you for your kind remarks. I think your Colt turned out nicer than that Remmy my brother😁👍👍 you did an outstanding job!!

Thanks for the kind words brother...

I cant tell you much about the stock other then its a cimmaron skeletal stock.

When I sell the 1860 I plan on selling the stock with it.

My inbox is always open for offers

Dont do that to me, im weak! I just sold a 2021Pietta because i couldnt load conicals, and i was NOT grinding on such a fine revolver. Its already been replaced with an Uberti 1860, another fine revolver that will load conicals without grinding. Its going deer hunting in the fall. Next on the list is an 1862 pocket police or a Pietta London Navy in 44 cal.

I have the pocket police and the London 44.

The 51 navy London 44 is the most accurate pistol I own. Sadly it sits in the safe as well. I shot it last October and it got cleaned oiled and put away.

I really need to thin the herd.

Feel free to hollar at me if your interested in the London. I wouldn't mind sending her to a good home.
