Gotta agree with that there. Kilt this one with a .440 Hornady round ball, somewheres close to 80 grains or so of FFg Goex, anda 15 patch. One shot, from above twixed the shoulder blades. Over and done with. Although I am sure that any critter can and will put up a fight if pressed hard enough, most hogs are over rated as for comin to get ya. However, they do make some great stories.

I agree with Boonedocker. Florida has lots of hogs, over 100,000 per year are taken. I jump them once and a while back in the swamps and its pigs in all directions. Same thing when you shoot one, they just run, sometimes towards you but at an angle and you realize they didn't know where the shot came from and they're just running.
Back up? I just finished making a wicked 12" bowie from 01 , it has a rakish tip that's just waiting for some hog to question it's authority. Check out some of the hog hunting magazines for a good pig sticker.

Hogs will eat flesh, and human at that. it is well documented. That's one reason why I hesitate to eat them, but not for long. Toss on a smoker/grill for 12-24 hours and have at it. I've seen youngsters crowding around to pull strips of meat off.
Course hungry youngsters will eat most anything. :haha:
