I have 2 Uberti Remingtons 58's in 44. One is traditional the other has adjustable sights. Both cylinders fit both guns. The traditional gun will fire all 6 chambers of both cylinders no problem. The one with adjustable sights will not, not even the cylinder that came with it. All nipples measure pretty close to one another, both cylinders measure the same. One gun was built in 73 the other 74 I believe. Any ideas. The only thing I can think of is to try six new nipples on the one cylinder.

I'm a real novice here, but if both cylinders fire in one gun only the problem would be the non firing gun's hammer or cylinder alignment.
1 . Spring weak, not enough force to ignite the cap .
2 . Not completely striking the cap too much gap between hammer face and cap.
3 . Or cylinder is moving forward .
Things like that. :hmm:

If the spring seems OK you might compair the hammer faces. It is odd that the one does not shoot with the factory cylinder. I would have to get mine out of the safe but does the rod go thru the frame. If so could you have switched them and one is a little longer. Geo. T.

If one works fine with either cylinder and the other does not the first thing to check is if the hammer face is even making contact with the caps. If it isn't it could be that the gap between nipple and hammer is too large which could be the result of having too much end play in the cylinder or the hammer face could be too short.

Another possibility would be debris in the hammer channel...did you buy it new or used? Has it been completely disassembled? burrs or a cap fragment in the frame could hold the hammer back from the caps.

If it does seem to be touching the caps then the mainspring might be too light... Does it come to fullcock easier than the other revolver? Check to make sure the mainspring tension screw is all the way in. These are the first things I would check with one that isn't firing.

I will check the items you all covered. On the pistol that does not fire all the time everything looks good, but some will fire some not.But you all gave me some ideas and i will check them out. Will post what I find. Thanks to all.

If it fires the 2ed time around the problem could be caps not seated all the way. The nipples on the none fireing gun could be a little larger.
