My T/C Seneca rear sight has developed some "play" in it and I want to replace it. Can anybody lead me in the right direction in finding a replacement (adjustable or fixed)? Thanks!

Try Track of the Wof, Log Cabin, or Dixie Gun works. If none of them have it I could make you one.If the seneca uses the same sights as the T C hawkins I probably have one already.

Try sending the sight back to Thompson Center. They may send you a new one. The thing should be covered. I sent a sight back a few years ago. I had the same concern. The sight became very sloppy and loose. No amount of fiddling and cleaning would correct the problem. It was probably just one of those pieces that slipped through final inspection. They sent a new sight.
Give them a call, or email and explain your concern. At the least, all it would cost you would be shipping one way. :hmm:

I sent my .45 Patriot with a similar sight problem to T/C. They fixed it, cleaned the gun up real pretty and paid shipping back to me.

the windage screw is retained by a set screw that can work loose. It takes a very small allen wrench to adjust. Only snug up tight enough to take the play out. DO NOT Over tighten. When sighting over the gun , the adjusting screw is on the right hand side and points to the breech. Hope that this helps.

Thanks ' ramrod! If I strike out elsewhere, I will be talking to you. The Seneca sight is dainty compared to the Hawken's sight. I may get back with you and thanks for your help!

Bingo HD! The previous owner must have gotten a little over zealous with the tiny set screw. I have fiddled with it to no avail and am wits end as recoil moves the sight in a few shots.

While I am a fan/owner of T/C's of all sorts, the design of this rear sight absolutely baffles me! I have guns that have literally thousands of shots through them and the rear sight has never come out of adjustment. Why, oh, WHY did T/C think this design was the way to go?????? :youcrazy:

Thanks El Lobo. How long ago did T/C do this for you?

It was this past winter or late in the fall. They were very nice about the whole thing. Cleaned and polished the pistol. Even offered to re-blue the barrel for an additional charge.

Send the sight to TC and explain what the problem is. They will fix it for you and return it at no charge.
