You'll get all the answers you need .

Is your interest in Rev War cannons only ? Or is how we got to that type of interesttoo ?

There is a good book called "Round Shot and Ramrods" It covers the entire pre conical bullet period .

Gary

Thanks. Locally some friends are putting together a Colonial period reenactment unit.
And I WANT a four pounder.

Check the vendors for two booklets published by the Museum Restoration Service in Alexandria Bay, NY. They are in the "Historical Arms Series":

No. 4 - "An Introduction to British Artillery in North America"

No. 39 - "Grasshoppers and Butterflies - the Light 3 Pounders of Patterson and Townshend"

The "Grasshoppers" might just give you a three pounder "want"!

Gallopers ,Grasshoppers and Butterflys , Here is one I am working on now .

The carriage will fit both my Howie and my 1838 .

I will dress up a 38 someday to resemble a 3 lber .

It will be cast with Crest , Dolfins and a fancy vent field .

Nice work.
Do you know who else besides South Bend makes a full scale Verbruggen 3 pounder?

for an iron gun I do like the Herns Large swivel .

It is fairly cheap and has a liner . It is 320 buck iirc ?

Its not an exact scale anything as far as I know ,but it is a nice looking period piece ,depending on your level of accuracy that is needed .

For a start up group I dont think you'd be disapointed .

If you are going to get a Southbend tube you
should do it soon! The owner is getting up there
in years and has been trying to sell the business
So who knows what the future holds for the company.
