A few weeks back there was a post, by myself, that asked for advise on a revolver for a Christmas present from my daughters/family to me....They ask me what I wanted for a revolver, and I asked you fellers...
Well, I asked a few questions, got a few answers, and told the family I wanted a Colt 1860 .44 Revolver for my present.

Being the considerate father I am I didn't want to put my daughters...the main instigators of this scheme...at any hardship at this time of year, as I would greatly prefer they spent the money on my grandkids.

Well, come Christmas..at my oldest daughter's house, it was time to open presents, but there was only one little present for grandpa...and I thought that was just fine. No problem at all. I was very happy with my present. Time went on, and as I thought we were about ready to leave, the girls called me back and said they had found something for me, that had actually been last years present, and wasn't sure if I still wanted it or not.

So, I opened it....and low & behold..... it now resides (secured) in my gun cabinet...

The reason I didn't get the revolver last year is because it was being engraved for the last ten months....I guess they got it back in September.

Many of you suggested the Old Army Ruger but I thought it would be too expensive for my daughters to shell out that much money....and I was thinking about a "Plain Jane" Ruger in blue...duh! Ya gotta love two girls who think like this!

Russ, that is one Beautiful Ruger. Your daughters married already. :: Congratulations on a great present and some Great daughters too.

Your one LUCKY guy. That's a good way to store your pistols sir, I think I'll be copying that and some felt on the inside of the door as well. Out of curiosity what are the other pistols below??

JohnW1...Welcome to the forum.

Pssssst....those other two pistols are things we are not allowed to discuss on this forum. They are those "other" Rugers that I play around with. One sports a 4x EER scope and the other is a newer target pistol for that "other" kind of shooting... Shhhhh.

Thanks Zonie....I never tire of hearing that.
Very kind of you to mention it.

snake-eyes :applause: :peace: :)

RussB, congratulations on a great pistol, and even greater kids...you obviously raised 'em right...Hank

That's a beauty! Congrats! The Rugers have a great reputation with the Cowboy action "frontiersman" class shooters. Im sure you will love it.

Happy New Year! Jeff

I bet you felt like Ralphie when he opened the Red Ryder!

You're a very lucky man!

The only thing you need now is a set of ivory (or lookalike) grips for it. Something that pretty just doesn't look right with wood grips. :hmm: If any of your daughters are single I'm available. It is pretty sweet. :master: :master:
