These locks have been panned by some folks but I must say that in the southern guns they are a good fit and the ones that I have used in the past have been smooth and fast. I’m going to use them as the project requires. I’m also a big fan of the Chambers Late Ketland.

In your experience, Wayne, how does the Rice lock compare to the Davis lock of the same design? I really appreciate you weighing in here. I prefer the fit, finish, and function of the Kibler, but I want the look of the Manton waterproof pan.

I’m not going to diss the Davis lock but if you want a hot-rod lock the Chambers, Kibler, or Rice locks are comparable in performance. Each has its pluses and minuses. The remaining factors are personal preference and of course price.

Sorry Wayne, I have to disagree. Kibler is a large step above either, out of the box.
I’ve used Chambers for years. But if my needs will allow a Kibler, I’ll use it every time.

That Haddaway is a fabulous lock. Fast and reliable. That lock was a Cadillac in its day. It got panned by a well known member of the community who gets lots of attention here lately.
