Has anyone built a rifle using the Liston Rice "Nock" lock with the waterproof pan? If yes, I am eager to see some pictures. Thank you
Wow that's nice Wayne!Yep!
In your experience, Wayne, how does the Rice lock compare to the Davis lock of the same design? I really appreciate you weighing in here. I prefer the fit, finish, and function of the Kibler, but I want the look of the Manton waterproof pan. These locks have been panned by some folks but I must say that in the southern guns they are a good fit and the ones that I have used in the past have been smooth and fast. I’m going to use them as the project requires. I’m also a big fan of the Chambers Late Ketland.
wish i had a dozen. used one on a .30 cal half stock i call my whatzit rifle, and used one on a .45 Tennessee mountain i built. That Haddaway is a fabulous lock. Fast and reliable. That lock was a Cadillac in its day. It got panned by a well known member of the community who gets lots of attention here lately.
Thank you. Have these Rice locks required a lot of work? Here's mine. I've built 5 rifles with this lock and everyone really likes it. Smooth and fast.
