I am gathering info for my first project. I am looking for pictures, sketches, drawings for carving examples and engraving designs that would be typical of a Lancaster Co. rifle Isaac Haines school. Any suggestions?

Best thing is to study originals in person, next best is to get good books. I recommend Shumway's Rifles in Colonial America Volume 1 for a study of Lancaster rifles and their decorative carving and engraving. Kindig's Kentucky Rifles in the Golden Age is excellent but lacks the close-ups and varied views.

Also look ata copy of Joe Kindig's "The Kentucky Rifle in its Golden Age" it was available through inter-library loan.
The are many Lancaster Rifles illustrated there from the early rifle to the later period. A great reference work, the standard by which most other books judged.

Regards, Dave
