By accident I dropped in on the first day of the Rocky Mountain College Rondy outside of Fairplay, Colorado. A very fun day. Met lots of fine folks, many from this and the TMA forums. I think it runs through next weekend and is a great learning rondy for all. And...one of the best Traders Row I've walked down. Spent more than I expected, but I always do. Wish I could have stayed the week.

Is this affiliated with Rocky Mountain College, located in Billings, MT? My son is going to be going to school there this fall.

No the College Rondy is sponsored by the Colorado Muzzleloading Association. It is a good place to go to learn more about the primitive aspects of the sport.

We just wrapped up yesterday evening and broke camp this morning. It was a good Rendezvous despite a fire ban until Friday morning. The Old Spirit is still with us.

Too bad you couldn't stay sneakon, it was a blast. I was up there Thursday and Friday night, and left Saturday after the big dinner. I shot the state primitive shoot up there, came in sixth is what Im told. That was a fun little match. The traders were great, I bought a pair of pants and some other junk. Had a great time just hanging out and visiting different camps. I slept in a diamond with two wool blankets and a ground cloth. The nights were cold, but my diamond didnt leak in the rain at all. Next year I'm going to try to stay longer, and with better sleeping quarters.
