I don't think $475 is a bad price if it is like new. Finding another in that condition might be tough. Could someone find one cheaper, sure, but that is always the case. It is like the farmers in the coffee shop. First liar doesn't have a chance, meaning no matter what the deal is, someone found a better one.

$450 is Overpriced for me .Mine was $250 from a fellow match shooter as new in box last Sept...Dealers will jack up the price to $400-$600 for the same gun. Don`t expect dealers to sell any gun for a decent price and you won`t be disappointed...c

Interesting side note: I purchased an original in 1965 for $175.00 from a high-end gun store. Which was a lot back then. Except for the patina finish it was in almost new condition, as many were due to the fact they were introduced towards the end of the war and never saw military use (if my memory serves). Once I had the right ball size and taught the correct loading procedure, that gun shot very accurate. And it didn't seem to matter who shot it. So, even the originals were very good shooters. Should have never sold it.

I bought a new RS at a Tulsa gun show about ten or twelve years ago for two hundred dollars. It had come from Dixie gun works because it had all of their junk writing on it. I believe this pistol must have been sold at one time as a seconds or at least not up to par. There was several things not quite right about this pistol but having some gun experience I have corrected the faults. I have several black powder pistols and the RS will shoot with the best of them including the old army. For me personally I believe the RS was the best revolver of the civil war era functionall. You might disagree but that's my take but the RS never got to prove itself in combat. Only this past year I defarb my RS to remove the Dixie gun works logo and I'm that much more p!eased with it. Good gun.
