I picked up a Rogers & Spencer Target C&B Rev. The R&S was all alone on a table at a gun show. The table was covered with some bad home made jerky and hot sauce. The fellow wanted a $150.00 we agreed on $125.00. Gees, I was able to free the sixgun from a Jerky Dealer. This is the Euroarms Mdle. as sold by Dixie. The Target Mdle. is a new invention, the original guns did not have Adj. sights. DP&S sells a high grade R&S for $1,200.00. The R&S was made too late for a starring role in the Civil War. Most of them were sold off by Bannerman. There were a few issued to the USMC in the 1890s during the Moro War. Most likely the last C&Bs used by the US Military.
The R&S is in very good shape it has seen very little use. It has an Adj. rear sight Elevation and Windage. The rear sight blade must be tight or it could be lost. The front sight is a tall Patridge style. The chambers are chamfered, the trigger is perfect. The trigger breaks clean no side wobble or over travel. The main spring is very strong little hard cocking. The R&S has a very much improved loading arm easy to remove. The loading arm latch is inclosed a very positive lock. Unlike the 58' or the Colts the arm does not fall when shooting heavy loads. The R&S when loaded with 40 grs. of 3/F and a .457 ball shoots very good at 25 and 50 yds. I have found a load of 30 grs. 3/F shoots under 1" at 25 yds. from a rest. When I get a chance I will fire these loads over a Chrony and check them out.
