Hardball, it was quite a hunt, we almost didn't make it out. I've been meaning to write up the story and get it published. I've still got my log that I kept notes of the hunt.

When we went in we were going downstream. All rivers flow north towards James Bay up there. Coming back it was upstream. Three days and two nights with two canoes loaded with boned out moose and all our gear. It rained and then turned to snow...A LOT OF SNOW! We made it, but just barely.

KB,

"I believe that gun is going to wear YOU out"

In the words of the Duke,

"That'll be the daay"  :haha:

My .62 Jeager is made with Rifle Shoppe parts for the T.W.Pistor Jeager Rifle. It has a 28 1/2 in.Colrain barrel and a Jeager lock made from old aquired parts and assembled by Larry Zornes of the Mold and Gun Shop. I received most of the lock parts from Bob Roller who said he had them for quite a while. They internals looked very much like the parts that The Mold and Gun Shop use in their Model C lock. I sent them to Larry and he put together a lock that works very well and is a Jeager through and through. I did cone the muzzle and use .600 balls with a .010 patch and a well greased cushion wad, all put in a loading block. It loads with just the ramrod quite easily and the accuracy is all I can ask for. I use the same components except for ball size in my .58 Jeager and my .54, Model C Smoothbore which are also coned.
