Just picked up a barely used (looks new) Lyman .490 roundball mold with handles for $21 on Ebay. Watched a .600 block go for close to Tracks price for a new one. I guess that some people either don't check prices or don't know about muzzleloader sources?

PS - there are a couple of .490 blocks on Ebay now.

Coot,
I have purchased many items on E-Bay....some good
and some not so good. Check sellers 'buyers
comments'. Mite save a lot of problems for a buyer.IMHO

Amen to that, its the first thing i do when looking at items on flea-bay
ask the seller lots of questions too if necessary.

Another thing to watch, is many sellers even with good feedback rating, seem to charge extremely high shipping and "handling" fees. much higher than need be imho. I saw one set of molds on there i was interested in but they were listed as $21.00 in shipping charges alone. that has to be taken into consideration in the total purchase price to compare to a new price + shipping.

It's auction fever, I sold a brass bag mold to the son of a prominent gun builder for 8.00 buck more that it cost new and then turned around and won an auction for a Rapine bag mould in the same size for 43.00 bucks. I listed the brass mold for half of the cost new, I didn't twist the guy's arm's to bid it up that high. I am amazed at the people who don't do the research first.
