Question: I have a .54 rifle and .015 patches. Now, if I double .015, I get .030. Would the correct ball be .51? www.Ballmounds.com makes round ball molds in any diameter requested. I am trying to figure this out. Thanks in advance.
Thank youYep, as stated .530 would be a good place to start. Bore is measured to the lands so the extra patching is used to fill the grooves and seal so don't get blow by. A good place to start with any muzzleloader is .010 under bore, .490 for .50cal, .440 for .45 cal and so on.
