Even though they aren't 'period correct' I have been enamored with these things for decades.
I can't explain the why and it wouldn't matter anyway.
Was looking at whatever magazine or book describing the different variations and realized I have accidentally ended up with five of them - plus another that was customized into a bullseye competition-type rig.
I don't have a brass grip framed model and foolishly thought "Hey, maybe I get one of those and I might have one of each variation!".
So I subscribed to the RENE publication so I would know the actual model numbers to look for.
(For those unfamiliar, RENE stands for Red Eagle News Exchange. It's a quarterly put out by a gentleman in Iowa and is THE reference for Ruger collecting.)
Turns out there are two additional variations I was never aware of - which are so 'unobtanium' that being struck by lightning in my basement is more likely than finding one.
