I have a Uberti/Allen Santa Fe Hawken..I believe it’s about 30+ years old. I got from the original owner, a good friend, about 20 years ago.
It is in very good condition with a few small marks from usage. No pitting anywhere that I can see.

it has a 14.5 inch pull
barrel is 1” across the flats
marked .54cal, so probably .53 cal. I have a box of 100 .520 round balls for it.
the stock is nicely figured maple
there is some minimal surface rust/discoloration in the bore at the muzzle, but no pitting.
I don’t have a bore light but I can’t feel any rough spots in the bore
the rifling is distinct and sharp
lock is nice and crisp

Now…I’m looking to trade for a Pedersoli full stock, perhaps a Kentucky or Pennsylvania Percussion, but flint, maybe. Perhaps one of the older Dixie long rifles in good condition. Not interested in Traditions 2pc. Stock guns. Prefer .45 or .50

if I don’t find a trade I may consider selling outright.

That could be. I used to shoot with the original owner in the mid 70s and he might have had it then.
Ive owned this, a Browning, and an Ithaca at sometimes over the last 40 years and to my recollection they all were quite similar.

I have a very nice Dixie Tennessee Mtn.Rifle that I bought originally (used) in .50 caliber. I re-barreled it with a green mountain .40 caliber. It’s a flinter that sparks very well and it is deadly accurate. The barrel was cut from its original 42 inch to 36 inch when I got it, so that is how I copied the .40 caliber. I killed a doe with it at 93 yards. I also took two turkeys.(headshots) at 50 yards plus. I have fired less than 100 rounds through the .40 caliber barrel. Let me know if you have any interest. Look for a small box with two letters stamped on the left barrel flat, near the breach end. You will probably have to pull the barrel to see the whole thing. Tell us the two letters in the box, that is a year stamp on Italian guns.
Mine has an AE, which is 1979.

Here is an ad and staff report from 1980 along with a current picture of my rifle. Date…..43 years ago I bought my Santa Fe Hawken(kit) in 1970/1980. I soon after replaced the walnut stock with a maple stock. It’s an authentic looking, well made, and very accurate shooter that I still use today. I use 52 cal LRBs behind 100gr powder.

I have a Pedersoli KY built from a kit in the '80s. Tack driver, though it does need a bit of sight work I think, but I have not taken the time to work up a load and with the right patch and ball might shoot center (group is good, just not quite center). The barrel is grey, stock has been refinished and defarbed a bit (flats along barrels rounded, wrist thinned a bit, etc). I have pics if interested.
