Edit: at the auction house looking at the rifle closer and it looks to be a Hawkins style, not a long gun. Also looks to be .45 if I had to guess. Photo added:

I was checking this rifle out yesterday at a preview of an auction that goes down today. These are auction photos but they don't show the rifle full length. The rifle resembled a long rifle but maybe slight shorter. I was interested in it but the repaired cracked wrist (screws) and stock damage changed my mind. Thoughts?

Cool old rifle but definitely needs work. Guess it all depends on price. Any idea on what they say expected sale price will be?

Currently at $170 plus 15% buyer’s premium. Would guess in the $300 area but you never know at auction. Goes down at 6:30 PM. I’ll post the final price when it happens.

PS: This is a local auction so they don’t post expected prices.

Final price was the $170 bid plus the 15% buyer’s premium.
If i’d have had the skills to restore the rifle I’d have went for it. Unfortunately I don’t. 🙁

I’m afraid it would have driven me crazy. With its flaws and not being able to correct them. I figure to hold off and try and score something in better shape.
