Wano is either rebranded Schuetzen or is made by them. It‘s really all that is available in Queensland.

I used only Goex when I lived in the States and I think Wano is a little better overall, especially the “P” grades. However I haven’t used Goex for a long long time so my comparison from memory may be invalid.
WANO is the manufacturer of Schuetzen brand which was formulated specifically for the US Market. It is different from WANO's P grade black powder.

I'll say it now.....

Unless Estes gets off it's duff, and SOON, the GOEX brand is done. Folks like me have discovered Shuetzen and won't be going back. I take no joy in saying this. I was happy with GOEX. But I have to have powder. Sometimes you find something else during shortages that is as good or maybe better.

Amen brother. I'm right here with you. Schuetzen / Swiss stepped up while Goex is dead.
I'm VERY content using the Schurtzen & Swiss. I won't switch back either.

I’m on my last can of 3f Goex. This summer I bought several pounds of Schuetzen 3f. Having read on here different opinions on the two, I went to the range tonight and compared them.

I was shooting my Kibler SMR.36. I shot a 5 shot group with Goex. Swabbed my barrel and switched to Schuetzen. I shot another 5 shot group. Then 5 more offhand. The groups were the same. Loading was no different EXCEPT I had no crud ring at the breech with Schuetzen but I always do with Goex.

I was pleasantly surprised as I’ve read many posts about how much dirtier Schuetzen is.

Next I’m going to take my .32 and try it again with it.

Thought maybe you guys would be interested in my little test.
I was wondering about it myself. I've heard the swiss shot a bit "hotter". I have both of my 32's sighted in with pyrodex p. 3f I only use in my revolver.

No, but the floor of Mammoth Cave in KY was used to collect potassium nitrate left there by thousands of years of bat guano..
Yep and there are many caves here in Kentucky that were used to mine guano, seen several where the leaching vats wood had rotted away and left the impression in the clay/mud/guano mix.

I like schuetzen and especially Swiss, that being said I believe having a in country source is very important. One bad turn of events and we could lose the ability to import black powder. When/if Goex gets back into production I plan on giving them a fair minded shot. Hopefully you do as well. Schuetzen has been great but it doesn’t mean Goex shouldn’t have that same opportunity to be great as well. The more options we have the better, and made in America sure doesn’t hurt.

I still have several pounds of Goex...just prefer to use the other.
Let's hope Goex comes back well....whenever that happens.
