Well I thought I'd throw it out here and see if anyone has one they are looking to get rid of. I have been looking at the ones made by Cold Steel and Hanwei for a 1750's-1760's 42nd Royal Highland Regiment. I would possibly be open to other brands as well, so if you have one you're thinking about selling, please get in touch!

If you wait, Kult of Athena might get some back in stock.

Yeah I have been checking there from time to time with no luck. Figured I'd just make a post on here and see if anyone had one laying around that they'd like to get rid of. Fingers crossed someone restocks them!

I have a modified Hanwei Practical Scottish baskethilt which I would be willing to sell. The basket has been refinished to a forged look. Let me know if you might be interested.

Hello, would you be kind enough to show a picture of a Hanwei , I tried to look it up and found a Chinese sword maker. Thank you.

Yeah they're a Chinese company and mostly make reproductions of Chinese and Japanese weapons, but they also do some European reproductions. My experience with them (I own a basket hilt from them, and a friend of mine owns their viking sword) is that they're very well made with high quality materials, well balanced, and the fit and finish is pretty good.

Thank you, beautiful sword, I can see why you want one. About what time period were these ?

Various styles of them were used from roughly the late-17th to mid-19th centuries in varying degrees of practical and ceremonial use.

I have a little Scotsman in my ancestry, when you say WW2 mad *******s, Billy Millin's come's to mind. Boy he had some ball's.

Jack Churchill was another one. Highly recommend reading about him if you haven't before!
