Hi, I'm new to this forum and member of a re-enactment group in Norway. I've just bought my pistol and will mainly use it for blanks. However, I may try it with bullets, and I would appreciate some good advices on size, grain, priming and powder. Thanks!

I don't have any answers for you, Thunderbolt, but I can second your question! :) I also have a .62 sea service (flintlock, smoothbore, from Loyalist Arms). I have never fired it, but am interested in any tips anyone has.

i would have second thoughts about shooting a live load from a pistol from loyalist arms. they are okay for blanks because you don't know what the material of the barrel is. they are made in india. thats the reason why when you get a pistol or musket from them there is no touch hole drilled. so there-fore they are not responsible for what happens. so my suggestion to you is don't shoot over 50 grains out of it if you want to keep your hand!! :imo:

and thunderbolt where did you purchase your pistol from?

They only leave the barrels plugged because they would not be able to send them thru the mail to america or canada. They even tell you that the plug can be drilled out by "any gunsmith" and then proofed.
