Nope- There is another one here.
The very first rifle I ever built was a 50 caliber Sharon Trade rifle, it was a high school shop project when I was a Freshman in HS. It was stolen by a room mate a few years later.
I was absolutely elated when I found the complete unbuilt Trade rifle kit a couple years ago.
My 2 fullstocks are a matched pair, one is a flint and the other is a percussion. I have to wonder if they were possibly a father/son project- the rock lock shows fine craftsmanship and a nice eye for proportions whereas the percussion is of more bulky proportions.

In its day Hal Sharons barrels were arguably the best out there and the kits were of outstanding quality with L&R locks.

This is the pair of fullstocks Sharon Rifle Barrel Co.
You are the only other Sharon hawkin builder I know of. I paid about 250 bucks for mine and at the time all my hunting buddies shot T/C Hawkins. My Sharon was real eye catcher to them. Love my Sharon. I’ve refinished it 3 times cause I didn’t know how to stain the plain maple, finally got it right. I’ll post a picture in couple of days. Would like to see yours.
Here’s my 54 cal Sharon half stock.

That’s a good lookin’ Sharon! I remember my dad building a couple Sharon Hawken’s from kits when I was a kid in the late 70s and seeing yours brings back good memories! Thanks for sharing your Sharon with us amigo!
Thanks, my son was about 12 when I was building it and helped me. Hold this , Hand me that kind of help every day. I gave it to him about 4 years ago

Congratulations on finding your Whitworth. I have one serial # 171. Mine has the Rigby rifling instead of the later Henry rifling. I wouldn't be surprised if yours doesn't have the Rigby rifling.

Thanks what a beautiful rifle! Congrats
Thanks. I have a Sharon half stock as well that I meant to post a pic of. But I discovered I have no pics on file right now of it. I was thinking of another Whitworth thread that I was going to paste the Whitworth pics in and I accidently put them here. .

Let us see your Sharon when you can. Not many of them out there.

Here is my .50 cal. Sharon that I built in the late 1970's. It has remained my regular shooter ever since. It has a Shillinger adjustable rear sight. It was far more work than the average CVA kit and it took me a couple of years to complete. It, too, began life with a Wahkon Bay stain and finish which eventually wore off during an intense rain at a Rondy. This the third finish on it and so far so good. I am glad I took the time to work on it and I have no regrets.

Fine looking Sharon. I have the same sight on mine. We are in a unique club. Not many can hunt with such wonderful Hawken! Thanks for sharing.
