Like was said, if you brazed on a steel recoil plate to protect the brass frame from the cylinder, they'd probably last forever. But at that point you might as well just buy a steel frame.
I had earlier seen post that someone(and I'm going to have to dig back through the site to find it) had posted that they had gotten an extremely thin washer from McMaster-Carr and had simply put that where the cylinder bears against the frame.
Naturally, they posted a pix and didn't give a link.

Any learned opinions on that?

There is a good chance the loading process is just as hard on brass frames as firing them is.
Thanks for that tip. Will get a reloading stand, Cylinder Pin Quick Release, and take off the loading lever.

😒 Just that extra cylinders are almost as much as an extra revolver.

Wganz, do you have a Remington? The cylinder pin quick release for those doesn't offer any advantage over just dropping the loading lever and a Remington without the loading lever is uglier than the Wicked Witch of the West. I never saw the need for extra cylinders, the loading time for 2 cylinders, once each, is the same as the time for 1 cylinder twice.
