Wow, I really love that '42. About the coolest gun ever. Seriously.

No offense to anyone, but why are you guys shooting at 25 yards? Seems like you could load a smoothbore with rocks and get a group at that range. I think 50 yards is the true test of a smoothie. ? Just wondering. ?? Always shoot my Bess at 50 yards.

I find that heavier charges, in my 11 bore Bess, produce the best groups.

No idea why the course of fire is 25 & 50 yards. We also aren't allowed to shoot patched round ball so there's lots of experimentation.

50 yard target with .648 "bare ball" with paper wadding on top. 100 gr of 2f.

I kinda pulled to the right since I haven't fired a flintlock in forever, but for a smoothbore with no sights it seems ok.
