Has anyone tried to shoot shot in a .45 cal M/L using a 410 shot cup and over shot card?

Yes. Don't bother. The spin of the rifling makes the shot come out of the barrel spinning, and when it separates from the cup, you get a spiral pattern on paper that simply continues to widen with each yard it travels. Its useful to about 10 yds., but you can get that kind of " accuracy" without the plastic cup.

Do a little math to figure out how fast that cup is spinning( and load) when it leaves the muzzle, and then travels down range at MV. It resembles the work of a high speed Drill. That works fine with solid bullets. Not at all with shot loads. :surrender: :hatsoff:

Yep, that says it all.Shot loads are ok in pistols for snakes at five yrds but that is about it.

When you're hungry a real short range loading can be made with a sleeve of lubed patch cloth... hmmm, that was 33 years ago.

A .45 and up pistol is a great snake gun. I have an old CVA that was $20 at a yard sale. 40 gr. fffG and a half oz. of #6 will kill a copperhead at 6 ft.

At best its only going to be useful to 15 yards or slightly more if a 54 and a 45 probably less.
I would not waste my time unless its a smoothbore.

Oh I don't know, when my mom took here garden hoe after those little garter snakes it sure LOOKED like she was havin' fun. :haha: Anyone heard the old saying "don't go at it like killin' snakes"? They must have seen my mom at work with her hoe.
