Shooting Tap o caps

For those who ate making #11 caps and have shot them. I have only popped 3 I believe. So that rust color that is left on the nipple. Is that actually rust or bi product of the mixture. Will rust actually form that quick due to the heat and chemical bi product.
If cleane 1 or 2 hrs later I would think it wouldn't matter.

I think it’s a bi product of the mixture. I’ve been shooting quite a bit of the home made caps and haven’t had an issue with rust. I clean the gun when I’m done shootin.
