The Slixsprings Cones are a definite improvement on the Pietta NMA I bought, but they have not performed any better than my old ASP NMA with the original cones.

I am not sorry for the purchase but I was expecting better. If they had been I would have bought them for the ASP NMA.

If were talking accuracy in factory configuration that may be true but not when they've been barrel lapped and chamber reamed.
I do agree in fit and finish the Uberti's get the nod.
BUT, when I pay $200 more for a "target" model I expect the gun to be set up for accuracy. You could set up a 1/2 pipe to shoot a bullet.....not my job when I pay good money. The adjustable target sights were useless shooting 6" high at 25 yards at the lowest rear sight adjustment. I had to file down the base of the sight to get near POA sighting. Very disappointed. Not worth the purchase. I have three other '58's that shoot just as good or better.

I always view the Pietta's as diamonds in the rough and enjoy bringing out their full potential but then I don't have to pay someone else to do the work either so that is a huge difference and factor in my point of view.
Every thing is present though in the factory guns to make match grade revolvers with some work.

We have mistakenly come to accept these guns with varying degrees of imperfections. Ok, I understand quality control VS cost but certain things like proper sizing of barrel and cylinder diameters should be easy to set up at the factory with consistent production. Seems very basic to me. Especial;y if it is touted as a target model. This is why I don't buy kits. I want to shoot guns, not fix 'em, although out of necessity I have had to work on all of my BP guns with the exception of the Uberti '58 Remington.

Nice shootin from that walker. I have a luv hate relationship with mine. Luv it cause it’s awesome, hate it cause my grandpa used to make me carry it around the farm for shooting rats. Might as well been dragging a boat anchor 😂
You have a gift for words. Honestly. I’m
laughing my a$& off at your stories.

I for one would love to see a pic of that Walker if it’s seen some honest wear.

I have slixsprings on all my revolvers mainly because I like the way the #11 caps seat on them. The'58 Remington's seem to shed the spent caps the best, the 1851 Navy is also pretty good and with the Walker I have to pick out almost all of the fragments.

Thank ya kindly, not the first time I've heard I have a way with them thar word's.
I recently moved, the walker in question is in a box somewhere along with 5 or 6 other pistols, I'll see what I can do. It's nothing special, just a old asm walker.

Not trying to take away from the original post, but if you like old stories....... My grandpa lost his right leg below the knee in WW2. I'm one of the few who can proudly say I've been hit upside the head with a prosthetic leg. Thrown from the living room into the kitchen by a old man in a wheelchair! Why? Cause i ate the last piece of fried squirrel. Where the squirrel came from is a whole other story 🍻
