shoots in PA

I'm new to this flintlock stuff, but I think I could really get into it The problem is, I know a lot of people that hunt with a flintlock because of our late mler season, but I think, in the Lots of hours I spent on this forum, I probably already know more than 95% of them. So my question is, where do I find a shoot to go to in central PA?
My one buddy works with a guy who shoots flintlocks competetively, but I didn't get to meet him yet. So whatever info you all can give would be greatly appreciated. And hopefully I'll see some of you at a shoot. :redthumb: :redthumb:

I don't have info handy but if ya can get hold of the Pennsylvania Federation of Blackpowder Shooting book(runs around $10.00) they list shoots all over the state. There are shoots probably every weekend going on someplace. Ya might try calling Dixon's muzzleloading shop in Kempton Pa and asking if they have the book or know how to conntact the Federation. hopes this helps some YMHS Birdman

Do you live anywhere near to Laurelton and Wickert. Those towns are off PA 45 west of Mifflinburg and east of state College. There is a rifle frolic on the road between those two towns every Labor Day Weekend. As many as 75 lodges, sometimes 50. We have a lot of fun. Steel sillywettes, woodswalk, paper targets, claybirds and clay rabbits after the rifle range closes. The only light you see at nite comes from campfires and candles. (Ok, I cheat, I have an oil lamp inside my wedge tent. We like the general aura of the 18th century, but no one there is a thread counter, if you know what I mean. Open iron sights only. No inlines, roundball only.

Yeah, actually I live in Sunbury, which is about 45 min. east of Weikert. Is the shoot at the union county sportsman's club?
