I saw your post but I am wondering what all did you do to the musket to turn it from a brown Bess to a committee musket?

I reshaped the brass side plate to look more like a Long Land Pattern type. I thinned and shaped the area around the tang. I reduced the width at the lock, as the lock was set too deep. The swell had been horribly done (I believe this was a kit gun) so I reshaped it.

It's more like something a Colonial gunsmith might have made for militia use just prior to hostilities broke out.
