Took a break from deer hunting earlier in the month and popped a few doves for the 5 month old Boykin. Pups first birds and the first blood on the Pedersoli flintlock.

My Boykin is now 14 but still wants to hunt every day. She is the best hunting dog I have ever had ... and I've had a bunch.

Great on ducks, doves, rabbits, treeing squirrels, baying wild hogs and blood-trailing deer.

Do yourself a favor and don't limit yours to just birds.

He's the follow on to my Springer so it's going to be upland/doves/ducks. Given the jackrabbit situation we tend to discourage our dogs from rabbit hunting and dogs aren't legal for deer out here.

Biliff, how do you like that Pedersoli Flintlock? Nice looking gun and nice looking pup. Nicely done on the doves as well
