I’ll be continuing to work on this so I can get as tight as patterns as yours!

1/2” fiber wads from Circle Fly. 24 gauge

#10 is clearly the best. There are some suitors behind it that would make solid loads as well. For reference, 210 bb’s hit the 14x14 area which means 82% of the load was focused on target.

Have you done the soup-can penetration test? That's a lot of lead for 80grs.

I mentioned it earlier, but it wasn’t a thought at the time. The shot did penetrate the wood about an 1/16-1/8”. I would think that should be sufficient on flesh

How many repetitions did you do of each test? It would be interesting to see if its consistent.

Are something like 2's or 4's good for a big bird like turkey?

I've killed many gobblers with a hot load of #6. I always hold on the neck where it leaves the body. Never had one get away.
Also used #4, but your pattern can get a little thin with them. But, it only takes a couple #4 pellets in the right place.

I have seen turkeys run off with a full load of shot in the body.

All due respect, the pellets need to break neck bones or the skull to cleanly take a turkey. Body shots are about useless IMHO, besides chipping a tooth on pellets ruins my appetite

I’m confident that that #10 load will penetrate skull and vertebrae at 25 yds.
I’m doing it with 60 gr of 2F under 70gr of #5’s. Have beetle cleaned skulls to prove it lol.

Circling back, the #10 load did the trick at 15 yards. I posted some photos on the hunting portion of the forum, but I’ll include them here as well.

I had two stray BB’s enter the breast and went straight through. I would guess there would be similar results at 25-30 yds.

I try to carry a little tripod with me, but forgot it that evening. Had a couple pieces of bark balancing on a log to keep it propped up.

I forgot to format my Go-Pro so I didn’t get that much footage.

Impressive. Thanks for your efforts in posting the results. This 58 is a legitimate turkey gun. Makes me wonder what it would do with #6 shot. You’ve cost me a lot of money with this post; looks like I’ll be ordering another Kibler.

Can I ask who did your jug choke? And the approximate cost?

I forgot to format my Go-Pro so I didn’t get that much footage.

Can you check and see if there is a los.dir when you look at what is in the camera's memory or on the memory card. I had a formating issue with a trail cam and even though the cam seemed to be working, the pictures and videos weren't in the DCIM file where they usually are. There was a file labeled los.dir full of files I couldn't open. I changed the name of one of the smaller files, just adding .jpg to the end, and it became a usable picture file. I then chose a much larger file and changed it to the same file name but adding .avi to the end and it became a usable video file.

With turkey season around the corner and a new smoothie finished, I’m dusting off the decoys and busting out my shooting supplies. It’s a .58 Kibler and I had the barrel jug choked to improved/modified. My goal is to get a good load out to 30-35 yds. I’ll be using #5 shot for the meantime (it’s what I have on me).

I have a few different loads I want to try.

1. Sky-Chief
2. @Brokennock ’s shot cups
3. A combination of the two
4. Cornmeal instead of card with both 1, 2, & 3
5. Standard load with cornmeal

Here are a few pictures of the new completed project. I need to break out the elk rug and gt some quality photos by done. In the meantime, please show your patterns and loads you’ve developed!
