My double gun has given me good service since 1977. There’s nothing wrong with the ramrod except I wanted the wood to flare to match the large tip. My buddy had a piece of hickory that he cut to 1/2” and tapered down a bit. The large tip was installed and pinned then the rod blended and reduced to .390” in the first two inches so it fit the thimble and slowly reduced to.350” at the tip in the stock. The combination jag and screw that came with the original rod is fitted and pinned to insure it stays on. Whiskered three times and stained then some oil finish makes it ready to go.
