That's sort of how I roll now. I'm building a three gun range box now. I got sidelined by some other stuff but I'm hoping to get back to it soon.I have a 54 Cal Lyman GPR .
I always like those machinist box's for something like a range box.A little fragile to carry to the range
But handy for small
Parts and tools

Love it, all business! You should get another 100 years out of it.View attachment 53839View attachment 53842View attachment 53843View attachment 53844View attachment 53845

You'll notice the very rare and unique mop handle musket in the bracket waiting to be reloaded.
I told you I was building a range box and I am! I figured I give you a taste of what I'm trying to do. View attachment 34726View attachment 34727View attachment 34728View attachment 34728
Yup, quarter sawn. A buddy of mine is a cabinet maker. Helped me out with the materials. I can't wait to get back on it. I got stalled by a few other things. I'm hoping to have it done by spring. I just ordered some brass acoutrements for it. Patch tins, oil and cap containers etc.VERY NICE -- is that white oak?
I was too lazy to go upstairs to get a rifle, lol.OH -- THAT'S JUST TOO FUNNY
Love the provenance! My mother gifted me this box about 45 years ago. Reproduction of a duck hunter's shell box but it has served well as a range box for my BP firearms
