I am in the same boat as you, the kit I am working on is missing the patch box cover, ram rod pipes, sights and trigger guard so if you end up with any extra parts once yours is completed give me a holler.
Looks like you are correct about the sights being tiny. Well, throw my dog down and feed him chicken, I wouldn't have thought. There is a member whose listed a Markwell today with a looong barrel for $200 +. Sometimes a fella doesn't know which way to go until he puts himself into a position when he must choose, then, he knows. I'm going to keep beating the bushs 'til the parts needed are found and I've completed my own mistake. I won't sell any of the parts now owned until I raise the white flag. Sorry to have given you hope, Steve

Steve tried doing the picture thing. But the gun is complete except for the crack in the stock at the breech. Hopefully we can meet.

Well, that is disappointing but also reassuring. And, of course, I'd be glad to meet you. So, it is a Markwell, Spanish manufactured, .45 cal complete, correct? Is it the short version with the barrel about 29-30 inches, or the long one. The stock is cracked at the breach? Where does the crack begin? Sounds like the stock is more of an object to keep the other parts together! What are you thinking of asking for it? I know and believe the price shouldn't be mentioned until it becomes the last concern before a sale. Maybe someone with a better phone or whatever could help you. 🤔 Thanks, Steve

Steven it is a full stock and long barrel. Crack is on the lock side.
Thanks for your reply to my questions. Got another question. I keep getting this message telling me I'm "ignoring your content". Apparently I've often you. Color me stupid 🤪 would you explain 😒 what it is I said. Was it that I seemed impatient? That's what struck me anyway. Well, humbly, I'm sorry. I kind of understand. Steve

Steven your not bothering me one bit. Not sure why your getting that message. More than likely I did something by mistake. Tecky I'm not...lol

Steven this is an update. The gun is 45 caliber complete like I said except for the ram rod. Lock does not function properly.

Keep checking ebay, people part out old muzzleloaders all the time. Don't restrict your search to Markwell arms though, they were the importer and other brands may be the same.
Ebay it is. The one part I've yet to find is the side plate. I've seen two on Ebay but missed them both. Cleaned up the stock somewhat and fitted some brass. Not finished by a long way but working on it. Work on the barrel today inside and out. The rifling is weak. A ball falls right down the barrel. We'll see. Stevan

Bought an Markwell Arms Kit the other day. Paid to much from ignorance. A lot of parts are missing. Need to do something. Buy, sell, or find. Missing are the butt plate, the brass on the barrel end of the stock, the part opposite the lock, the ram-rod, and others I'm unaware of. The barrel needs cleaning which I've yet to begin. Thanks Stevan
Is this your BP?
