I am a right handed person with a left eye dominate. I am also
far sighted. Iam shooting left handed so as to be able to keep
both eyes open. If I wear my glasses the sights are in focus
and the bullseye is fuzzy. If I dont wear the glasses the sights
are fuzzy and the bullseye is clear. I am sure there must be
many others with this same problem. Has anyone a solution
to this problem or at least a way to minimize it?

It does not hurt if the target is a bit fuzzy, as long as you can pick your aiming spot. If you mean really fuzzy, that could be a problem. You might want to try one of those peep apertures that attaches to your glasses, and you swing it down in place when you need it. This works well for me when I am target shooting. You can try this with a piece adhesive paper with a small hole in it before you buy a real aperture.

The tape with a small hole (about 1/16 inch) works fairly good because it limits the amount of your eyes lens that your using.
If the lens has any defects, it allows you to ignore them.

A marksman and retired military shooting instructor who used to be our rangemaster was one of the best pistol shots I ever saw. He used to say:
"It is impossible to focus on two different distances at the same time. Hold your arm out with your thumb raised. Now focus on your thumb. Notice the background is out of focus. Now focus on the target. Notice that your thumb is now out of focus. If the sights are not aligned properly, you don't know where your gun is pointed so focus on the sights. If your not watching them, who is?"

thanks for the advise. I am going to try to make
an aperture out of tape.

when i was teaching new soldier in basic training to shoot, we always taught them the front sight post should be clear and the target fuzzy. your sight picture is what is important.

I lost the vision in my left eye a few years ago. What I have found for deer hunting especially is fiber optic sights. Even being fuzzy, you can still line up the three dots and hit what you are aiming at. I like the one made by Hi-Viz. They are bigger than everyone elses and easier to see. :m2c:
