took my gpr to range again this morning to try it a 100 yards one more time to see if it was set. the last 3 shots were the ones making the ragged hole. my load is the .530 hornady rb with .018 ticking patch, olive oil lube, and 90 grns of goex 2f. I never expected this kind of accuracy at 100, i am itching to go hunting now. i had about a 10 mph wind right to left which caused the slight drift.

yup the the ole center fire rifles are gonna have a lonely season in the gun cabinet. Hell with that kinda accuracy i suppose it wouldnt be a bad idea to take the gpr prairie dog huntin. That would be good target practice for deer season.

Bet you could make some of the suppository-shootin' boys rather green with envy. :rotf:

Good shooting!

That is GREAT.I still don,t have mind dialed in
all together as I hope it would after all this time.

I built the kit & tested powder ect. Then I bought
my Gibbs & have been messing with it.It has been soooooooooooooooo dam hot here in Okla It's just
hard to get out right now.

But I can't wait to try this ole girl out also.
I know these are GREAT rifles.

Lord I love black powder guns.
Fly

i know what you mean fly. This black powder stuff consumes my mind all day long, this gpr is my first one but i do see some type of full stock flint lock and a 47 walker in my future. :hmm:

Remember, the first shot is the one that counts hunting, I mean the the first shot..

Good shooting..
