WANTED Slung holster for Pedersoli sxs howdah pistol

I just purchased a Pedersoli sxs 20 gauge howdah pistol, and I would like to get a holster for it. The kind of holster that is hung or slung from a belt over the shoulder. Any leads or actual products are much appreciated.

Looks like there are a number of custom makers who provide variations on the shoulder-slung theme. I am going to have to buy-and-try my way through this

I've got the flint version and am in the process of designing and making a slung holster. The gun is too heavy to wear on the hip with the triple K holster. My pants kept falling down in the woods. I know exactly what your looking for. I'll keep ya'll posted.

One way would be to get a blank sword baldric and have a simple wrap-around piece of leather that fits the pistol sewn on to the baldric.

Here is a holster I had made for two Balkan pistols. Of course, this was a custom and would be a more expensive route.

The shoulder/baldric style is a good way to carry a heavy single or pair of pistols. That way, the whole upper torso of the body is use to support the pistol(s).

agree! i hope it is as well made as it looks to be. i really cannot imagine hoisting one of these heavy guns around any other way

Good point, and I will do so, thanks for encouraging me, because I don't know if I would have thought to do it. I probably would have stuffed the pistol in and if it fits, great, and if not, whatever. I did order this rig two days ago and mailed the check out this morning, so it will be a couple weeks. I will post it here

Here is an answer some of us sought about these cool Pedersoli “Howdah” double pistols. This is the shoulder-slung holster for the pistol referenced above. Overall it is well made. The holster is just a wee bit small, and so it ends up with a dangling flap hanging off the end. Maybe the gun eventually fits better as it stretches the leather.
Separately, I experimented with wad size (c’mon, no jokes), and in fact learned what other Pedersoli Howdah owners have learned: These are overbored barrels. A 5/8” arch punch produced 0.625” felt wads that fit perfectly into the .58 caliber rifled pistol (above below) and that are too small for the 20 gauge Howdah pistol (below below). Make sense of that….yo no comprendo. So I had to hunt down a set of Osborne arch punches that should provide a punched wad that will correctly/ snugly fit that gaping 20 gauge bore. Otherwise there’s just gonna be trouble. Yes, I intend to take both the 20 gauge and the 58 caliber Howdah double pistols hunting. Yes, I am thinking about getting another slung shoulder holster. If I do, then I need a huge sombrero

Small update: Sending holster (not belt) back to manufacturer (Pistol Packaging Inc). It is just too tight to admit and hold the entire pistol. Nice people.

Ok here is the updated holster. The maker needed a couple tries. Now the Pedersoli howdah pistol sits down deep and snug.
