I think this may apply to most of the forums here and most others as well, not many years ago most folks were in a fairly narrow range of communication about our sport, many myths and missinfoemation festered and grew in places, and many found a nich of understanding and beliefs that may not pass a "fact based" scrutiny, and some were more "knowledgeble" in their realm than others, a kind of big fish in a small pond thing, now with the cyber capacity we find ourselves all cast into a vast ocean of information where some of the biggest fish in the way of knowledge and research swim, and now and then things are put forth and get slammed down, such is the way of the learning curve, some take offense, some may not respond to others less than factual/historical views as well as they might, but it is the best opportunity to learn if one wises to do so that has ever been available, it is best to remember that we are no longer in the pond but the ocean and it is easy to find oneself leading with the chin so to speak, so we must all examine where we are and what we "know" in a much larger scale than before when entering a discussion.

"A little learning is a dangerous thing; drink deep, or taste not the Pierian spring: there shallow draughts intoxicate the brain, and drinking largely sobers us again."

Alexander Pope (1688-1744) - An Essay on Criticism

Sometimes we have to enter the discussion just to find out what we know. That's how we learn. Isn't it nice to have this forum where we can make mistakes and learn from them, without worrying about being judged? :winking:

And since reputation aids comprehension, I can make the mistake more than once and get away with it... :haha:

Seriously though, I have learned more from this forum's members in the last year than I did on my own in 20 years, I would hate to know everything there is about muzzleloaders and such, there would be nothing left to look forward to...

HUH?????????

I guess this means you finally agree that my TC Hawken's aren't really exact copies of those built back in the 1800's! ::
