Greetings all,

My needles have been almost as hot as the summer weather outside. In this heat, I crank up the AC, and get to sewing & weaving. Here's what I have completed recently.

Instead of using leather for shooting bags, I have opted for heavy cotton materials, in earth tones. They wiegh a little less, and with a lining of pillow ticking, are very strong.

I first pattern, cut and sew (hand sewn w/ linen thread & artificial sinew), a bag from the pillow ticking. Once that is complete, I use that for the pattern when cutting out the outter shell of heavey cotton fabric.

The two pieces are then sewn together, along w/ a few inner pockets, for smaller items.

Some get a hem of brain tanned deer, and other are just folder over a strip of small cotton rope.

A few decorative buttons, and then the bag is attached to inkle woven shoulder straps, via more brain tan tabs.

Some get a bath in walnut dye, some will have to get dirty on their own.
They're not as nice as Swampy's bags, but a little compitition for him, none the less.

manure...... you are going to make me spend more $$ aren't ya?? :haha:

Very nice, once again
