smoking a mold

For the record.....MOLD is the green stuff that grows on old bread. A MOULD is what you pour melted lead into to make a bullet. :grin:

Oh dear... :shocked2: I do love these absolute statements.
Being a long time wordsmith I often check out these confusing issues. The mold/mould thing is one that aroused my curiosity recently. After checking with several sources (multiple dictionaries, AP stylebook, Chicago stylebook, Strunk and White, retired ninety year old school marm, etc...) the conclusion reached....they are interchangable. Now, that was no fun was it? :v
Now lets go for two part words. e.g. is it muzzleloading or muzzle loading?

One upon a time I couldn't find a candle or a match, so I tried "smoking" the mold with my Bic lighter.

Worked just fine, and only time I use a candle any more is for my big fishing molds. Lighter gets too danged hot by the time you smoke a double mold for 16 oz cannonball weights or 12 oz jigs! :rotf:
