Gday,
I have a .45 pedersoli penn flinter.
What I am wondering is if it is possible to get a smoothbore barrel(calibre neg) for this stock etc that will pretty much drop in and save me buying a whole new gun (can't convince the boss to let me do that).
I have my eye on a coupla nice fowlers but alas my means don't exend that far atm.

Cheers

It isn't likely that a drop in barrel is available. However, depending on the diameter across the flats of the barrel, you MAY find a custom smoothbore barrel in one of the smaller calibers. This custom barrel will require installing the breech, drilling the touch hole, cutting dovetails, and mounting the sights and underlugs, then finish the barrel prior to mounting to your gun.

That said, I would save up and buy a proper smoothbore. IMHO, IF you can find a suitable barrel, the bore diameter would be so small that you probably wouldn't be satisfied with it.

you could modify that gun.. but getting parts like sights, breach plugs, lugs, pipes, etc to match your stock would be almost impossible to get from pedersoli unless they have changed considerably in the past few years.. dave

Thought that might be the case- I am actually drooling over the Middlesex Village Trading Co Fowler at present- need to find out about getting it into the country tho
Cheers
