Good snake to have around, keeps the mice, rats, gophers, etc. in check.

Yeah and they are just about as ill-tempered as water snakes. Wifey stepped on one getting out of bed one morning. About a 3 footer. Bad day in black rock for me. Ive found em 20 feet up in trees eatin’ baby birds too! Right out of their cozy little nest.
We have lots of 6 footers around that love baby kittens too!!!
 
Yep. It's basically the same as a small valley. The reason it's called a "holler" is 'cause ya can holler down to yer neighbor without using a phone.

In our case that wouldn't work, our driveway is almost 3/4 of a mile long and our nearest neighbor is over a half mile away. We love it ... absolutely no noise but wind and birds.

I use to take my camera around with me in the truck and take pictures.

Going to start doing it again.
