If a person needs a shoulder stock on Howdah, just buy a long arm, be it a rifle or shotgun.

Might as well put a shoulder stock on a derringer.

That's true but you can't take it down and carry it in a brief case.

Dave,

Embellishment doesn't matter whether high end or low, it's the lines that are not there in the Pedersoli.

If the lines were there I'd be all for it.

That last one you show with the Henry Jones action, is about the strongest action there is for a double.

All the best,
Meself.

Well, I’ve thought that a Remington NMA 12”, Colt Walker, and Howdah with a stock would make a mighty fine close range pig popper.

Not nearly like attaching a stock to a derringer...

The person wielding the REAL howdah pistol was advised to push it into the tiger's open mouth until it would go no further, and then 'touch off' both barrels. The substantial recoil of, say, TWO military issue Snider or even .450 Black Powder Express cartridges going off simultaneously would have been the very least of your concerns.

Enfield,

The 14 bore I showed up the page is used with a ball usually...(14 balls to the pound.)

I have used shot, but think I only used about 3/4 ounce as I was just playing with it. 50 -ish grains for the same reason. Nothing very spectacular.

Dave, I replied a bit ago to your post, and something seems to have eaten it!

Will reply later as stuff calls.

TFoley,

The trouble with shoving your pistol down a tiger's throat before pulling the triggers, is that tigers don't arrive face first, but paws first, and by the time you got the pistol in his mouth, you would be well and truly mopped up!

All the best,
Rich.

Aw but remember, you don't have to out run the tiger. You just have to out run the other guy that the tiger is chasing.

My eyes got blurry. My hands got shaky. My knees began to buckle underneath me. I almost felt like I was going to lose control of my bowels but couldn't hold off any longer.

So I placed an order for a 20 X 20 with DGW. Got the bullet mold for a .614 pumpkin ball as well!

I decided against the shoulder stock for now.

Let's hope there is some good weather in my area so I can set the casting pot outside and make some pumpkin balls.

What does everyone think; one pumpkin ball plus 4 each 00 buck with 50 grains FFFG for charging watermelons?

There you go. I'll live vicariously though your experience. We definitely need reports and pics when you get it.

I need a beautiful blonde to make my dream come true.

If you've been following this thread you know that I wake up about 1:00 AM from a dream in which I rescue her from the charging watermelon.

Half of the dream will come true when the brown truck gets here. Maybe the other half will come true at the range.

As a child my parents had friends ( the Crowders) who had actual adventures in South America that would give Indiana Jones a run for his money. They had an old double barrel percussion pistol about .45 caliber that we played with, ( it was no longer in service) that I killed many an imaginary large critter with it (no Indians, Aunt Fay was Indian and her two adopted children were Native Peruvian) and a double pistol has been in the back of my mind every since. I must restrain myself from pirate pistols, Howdah pistols and sawed off percussion shotguns. And Che Cuevera t-shirts. Mercy. Viva Argentina!
